2017 CLUB OPEN DAY

SATURDAY 1st APRIL 2017

Commencing at 12 midday the bar and kitchen will be open for food and a coldie or two. Come down and enjoy an afternoon in the sun in the Al Fresco area whilst watching some “world class” hockey.

Games commence at midday starting with the two grass women’s teams doing battle. Then prepare yourself as the men’s third and fourth sides do battle with the “marquee team” aka the men’s masters in a mini round robin.

At the conclusion of these epic matches it will be time for some fun as the kids take on their parents and coaches. We also have a bouncy castle to keep the kids entertained between games.

Mouthguards by Game Guardian – Order Yours Now

Game Guardian is again providing the opportunity for SRHC members to purchase custom fitted mouthguards.

Our Club Impression Day is happening on Registration Day this year, Saturday 11th February. Impressions will be able to be taken between 11.30am and 1.30pm on the day. Orders for custom fitted mouthguards must be placed online directly with Game Guardian and mouthguards can be delivered right to your door.

2017 REGISTRATION DAY

2017 REGISTRATION DAY

Saturday 11th February

11am till 3pm

 

Come down to the club rooms and register for the 2017 season.  Online registrations will be able to be done on the day or you can register at home before you come down. Registration links will be available soon.

All the 2017 fee information is available here and don’t forget the VIP Club card offer available for seniors that pay their fees in full on/or before Registration Day. For further details see our VIP Card page.

Uniforms will also be available to try on and order on the day as well as a Sausage Sizzle and cold drinks available for purchase.

FUTURE OF THE SOUTHERN RIVER HOCKEY CLUB SECURED

It is with great pleasure that we announce that the City of Gosnells has today received confirmation from the Department of Sport and Recreation that the funding application for the synthetic turf facility at Sutherlands Park through the CSRFF was successful. 

This grant is in addition to the $1.3 million commitment from the Federal Government through the Community Development Grants programme.

The Executive Committee can now confirm that the construction of the turf facility at Sutherlands Park will break ground this year.

It has been a long 12 year process to get to this point and now the real work begins.

2017 SENIOR WOMEN’S COACH APPOINTED

It is with great pleasure that we announce Andy Smyth has been appointed as the 2017 Senior Women’s Coach.

In 2016 Andy took a much needed and deserved break from coaching but after attending a few of the women’s games later in the season Andy soon realised how much he missed coaching and the Southern River family.

2017 sees a reinvigorated and focused Andy joining the Hawks family again and ready to take the women to the next step, MTL.

The squad are going to see a very different Andy from 2015 and one of his main focuses this year will be on fitness and the ability to maintain that fitness for the entire season.

With the relegation of Subs and YMCC last year this season is shaping up to be one of the toughest yet.

Preseason for the women’s and men’s 1’s and 2’s commences this week. Please see the training schedules page under member information for all the details.
