COVID-19 update 16 April 2020

Dear SRHC Members

As promised in our email of 17 March 2020 we provide the following update with regards the 2020 winter hockey season.

At this point in time, Hockey WA is still working towards a modified season for 2020 winter hockey with a commencement date after 31st May 2020. The timing and format of any competition structure will be dependant on many factors, including the lifting of social isolation restrictions by the Federal, State and Local Government Authorities. At this point in time the City of Gosnells has cancelled all bookings and activities at all of it’s facilities until the end of May and is reviewing these on a month by month basis. For the SRHC this includes use of the turf facility, Les Sands pavilion and the Sutherlands Reserve D grass fields.

The health and well-being of our players, their family’s and our volunteers remains our top priority and with this in mind the committee is currently working on some innovative ways for us to keep in touch with our Hawks family as well as keep fit and active at the same time. Watch this space!!

We would like to again thank all our members that have already made full or partial payment of their 2020 fees. Once Hockey WA is able to provide us with a firm decision to move forward with a modified 2020 season all membership fees for the season will be reviewed in full and adjustments made where necessary with members having the option to carry over any surplus payments into the 2021 season or receive a partial refund. Should the 2020 season be cancelled all together then all members who have paid their fees in advance will be given the option to carry their payment over to the 2021 season or receive a refund in full.

With the above in mind, we also appreciate that many members who had paid their 2020 fees in advance may already be suffering financial hardship due to COVID-19. If this is the case and you wish to have your 2020 fee payment refunded in the interim then please email the Treasurer at treasurer@southernriverhockey.asn.au and include the amount you would like refunded as well as your bank BSB and account number where you would like the amount deposited to.

Players that have ordered and paid for uniforms and merchandise will still receive these items in due course. Some items are ready for collection from suppliers and others are currently in production. As soon as restrictions are lifted and it is safe to do so we will arrange for you to be able to collect you items from the clubroom.
